National Institutes of Health Selects Xerox as a Prime Contractor
June 18, 2012

DALLAS – Xerox (NYSE: XRX) has been selected as a prime contractor to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), supporting the information technology and business process needs of the federal healthcare marketplace.

As an approved contractor, Xerox can now compete for all service contracts that include: Information Technology (IT) services for biomedical research, software development, health sciences, imaging, IT operations and integration services.

Under the NIH Chief Information Solutions and Partners 3 (CIO-SP3) contract, pre-qualified contractors are identified to simplify the acquisition process for federal government agencies.

“For more than 35 years Xerox has been a trusted provider of government health care technologies and solutions in areas that include Medicaid management information systems, pharmacy benefit management and health information exchanges,” said John Kavanaugh, group president, Federal Solutions, Xerox. “Our relationship with the NIH offers the opportunity to demonstrate on the federal level how our simple and innovative approach to managing the ‘business’ aspects of health care gives providers more freedom to care.”

More than 25 federal agencies have selected Xerox to simplify their business process and information technology needs. Xerox processes more than 300 million documents for federal agencies each year. And with health care contracts in 35 states; Xerox serves 23 million program recipients, and processes 570 million Medicaid claims each year totaling more than $50 billion in provider payments.
